The Open Letter has grown into a meaningful platform with long-term partners across newsletters, events, and new media formats.
As we scale, we want to ensure our partners feel supported, informed, and clear on the value they are receiving.
For the past few years, renewals and partner management have largely sat with the founder. That now needs to change.
This role exists to professionalise and strengthen our partnerships function. You will own the full partner lifecycle,from onboarding through renewal , and ensure our partners succeed and renew with confidence.
You will manage 15–20 partner accounts across:
Newsletter campaigns
Annual partnerships
Event sponsorship
Curated dinners
Podcast and webinar activations
New commercial projects
You are responsible for:
Structured onboarding and alignment
Campaign planning and oversight
Monthly performance reporting
Proactive communication
Renewal conversations (fully owned)
Identifying aligned expansion opportunities
Within 12 months:
Renewal rate above 80%
Clear monthly reporting cadence across all accounts
No last-minute renewal scrambling
Stronger long-term partner relationships
Increased average partnership value through better alignment and opportunity mapping
Our goal is simple: partners should get value, clearly understand the value they’re receiving and want to continue working with us.
6+ years experience in sponsorship, media sales, or commercial account management
You have personally led renewal conversations
You are comfortable asking for decisions
You can manage 15–20 accounts without dropping balls
You are structured, proactive, and high-agency
You work well remotely
You think commercially, not just relationally
Media or sponsorship experience is strongly preferred.
R35,000 base per month
Performance-based quarterly bonus tied to renewal rate and account expansion
This is a revenue-owning role with real responsibility and upside.
